Rob Cairns is an award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist whose eclectic body of work ranges from feature films and episodic television to main titles, short films, game cinematics and stage musicals. Equally comfortable working in genres from orchestral to indie rock and electronic, Rob’s experience, skill, and collaborative process has made him a highly valued creative partner on projects including Netflix’s Love Death and Robots for which he composed 23 episodes and serves as the overall series music consultant.
Rob received the 2020 Annie Award for LD+R and has won a combined 16 BMI Awards for his work on wildly successful The Bachelor franchise and Extreme Makeover:Home Edition. Rob shares an Ovation award for the stage musical Bad Apples alongside Beth Thornley.
His body of composing work also features The Forger starring John Travolta and Christopher Plummer, the international comedy Wished directed by Dayyan Eng, MGM’s Bigger Than The Sky, TNT’s reboot of DALLAS, the Oscar-nominated short film Gopher Broke as well as game cinematics for popular franchises Warframe, Star Wars:KOTOR, Elder Scrolls Online, Titanfall II and Halo Wars. Rob composed the main title for Freeform’s Stitchers and ABC’s Mr. Sunshine, which he also scored.
As a producer and arranger, Rob’s album work has been featured in Stephen Soderberg’s Magic Mike, the Eva Mendes-starring Girl In Progress, and numerous television series including CW’s Naomi, and Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce.
Rob has a passion for music and storytelling, likes cats, and is very uncomfortable with web biographies written in third person.
